Wilderness Trust

The trust began more than 20 years
ago in Shropshire. It is now based at Old Chapel Farm. and has
shaped much of the work that has been achieved there.
It leases the Chapel in the
middle of the farm and is currently restoring it. The Chapel will be
a centre for reflection, talks, meetings, courses, exhibitions and
celebrations. For use by the local community as well as the farm, it
will be open to all visitors when there is no specific event on and
contain a small library.
One of the most important aims
of the Trust has been to create a place of welcome for those in need
of time out, a safe haven from which to return to the world. This
has been achieved by offering a small number of residential places
lasting from a few days to a year.
The Trust is building a small
retreat house for solitary retreatants. A small yurt is available
until that is completed.
